At Forlagshuset Bjørgu AS, which among other things owns Oppegård Avis, fielded a full 11 in football uniforms on the occasion of the Children’s Cancer Association’s Football Shirt Friday.

Football shirt Friday is organized annually to show support for children and young people with cancer, and to collect funds for vital research. The concept is as simple as it is fun; donate a sum to the Norwegian Cancer Society, put on a football kit and wear it all Friday, and preferably throughout the weekend.

Gives a sum for every football kit that shows up at work

– Publishing house Bjørgu gives a sum per employee who shows up in a football uniform on this day, says Thomas Nilsen Witzø-Bjølmer, who is publishing editor at Bjørgu AS.

He rises to the occasion in a red shirt from Sligo Rovers, who are currently in 7th place in the League of Ireland Premier Division.

– It’s a great way to support an important cause, and it’s fun for us football fans to be allowed to wear a jersey, grins Witzø-Bjølmer.
