Tokyo, strong earthquake: for now no tsunami alarm

A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.1 was recorded in Tokyo at 22.41 local time (15.42 in Italy) with its epicenter in the prefecture of Chiba, east of the capital. This was announced by the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) which did not launch any tsunami alarm, then measuring the intensity of the quake in 5 on the Japanese maximum measurement scale of 7 levels.

At the moment, according to public television NHK, there are no reports of damage to people or property. Shinkansen superfast train services have been suspended.
