Tony Bauer leaves “Let’s Dance”.

Köln – Comedian and audience favorite Tony Bauer is leaving the RTL show “Let’s Dance” early. The 28-year-old has to leave the dance floor for health reasons, as RTL announced. From now on he will no longer take part in the competition for the title “Dancing Star 2024” with his dance partner Anastasia Stan.

In the show on Friday evening he will say goodbye to the show “with his magic moment, which he will perform out of competition,” it said on the “Let’s Dance” Instagram account. The Magic Moment is about dancing a special moment from your own life story.

Bauer suffers from short bowel syndrome, which is why his small intestine had to be removed. According to RTL information, he depends on the regular supply of nutrients. He carries a backpack to which he is connected via a hose, the “hose of life,” as he calls it.

Farmer: “I have to reduce the load!”

“I’m incredibly sorry, but unfortunately I have to end my wonderful “Let’s Dance” journey early,” said the farmer, who was born in Dinslaken, North Rhine-Westphalia, in a statement published on RTL. He can no longer get the energy, vitamins, nutrients and minerals that he needs for dance training through parenteral nutrition alone. “Others can eat to compensate for the energy deficit, unfortunately I can’t! I have to reduce the load! That’s why I’m now forced to listen to my body so as not to permanently endanger anything.”

In a video published on Instagram, where he also announced his departure, he fought back tears. As part of the season, he had previously explained: “I simply asked God not to get any more luck, but just a little less bad luck. I just wanted to be a normal boy.”

Successors have already been determined

Ann-Kathrin Bendixen and Valentin Lusin, who were eliminated last Friday, return for Tony and Anastasia. The two will show Ann-Kathrin’s Magic Moment on Friday evening, as well as stand in for Tony in the “Battle “Boogie Woogie””, as it was called.

Bendixen, a motorcycle world traveler and influencer, said in a video posted to her Instagram story on Thursday evening: “I’m in complete shock. I don’t know how it’s supposed to work – how are you supposed to remember two dances in three hours or so? – I’ll keep fighting!” And: Tony would have granted her the final and the victory.

Professional dancer Valentin Lusin also said in an Instagram story: “It’s going to be a long night session today.” He doesn’t want to be in Ann-Kathrin’s shoes. And: “It’s really very, very short-term. We’ll do our best to get something going tonight. We still have half a day tomorrow.” The other couples had almost a whole week to prepare.
