Indonesian young men’s singles Alwi Farhan progress to the second round Swiss Open 2024. The 18 year old badminton player beat Kanta Tsuneyama two straight games!
Alwi Farhan challenges sixth seed Kanta Tsuneyama in the first round of the 2024 Swiss Open in St. Petersburg. Jakobshalle, Wednesday (20/3/2024) evening WIB. Alwi beat his opponent ranked 18th in the world 21-14 and 21-12 in 34 minutes.
Alwi immediately took the initiative in the first game and soared with five consecutive points at the start. This Solo-born badminton player appeared stable and maintained his lead during the interval, 11-6.

Alwi maintained that distance. At 18-14, he won three consecutive points to take the first game.
Kanta took the first point in the second game. However, Alwi stuck and reversed the position to 5-2, then widened the difference to 10-4 with four consecutive points.
Alwi didn’t let Kanta gain momentum. He continued to control the game until he succeeded in ensuring victory
With this victory, Alwi qualified for the second round of the Swiss Open 2024. The world number 59 badminton player will next face Danish men’s singles player Magnus Johannesen.
