Tri Rismaharini: The Ministry of Social Affairs will no longer provide assistance in the form of goods

Tri Rismaharini, Minister of Social Affairs, explained that since he took office, the Ministry of Social Affairs no longer distributes aid in kind or in kind.

So, said Risma, the Ministry of Social Affairs only provides social assistance in the form of cash transfers (money transfers) via banks.

This was conveyed by Risma in response to a question from Constitutional Court (MK) Judge Arief Hidayat in the Presidential General Election Results Dispute (PHPU) hearing at the MK building, Jakarta, Friday (5/4/2024).

“Thank you, Your Excellency, firstly, we will answer the question of the Honorable Mr. Arief Hidayat that social assistance at the Ministry of Social Affairs is in the form of a cash transfer. So it doesn’t exist in natural form or goods. So all transfers to the beneficiary’s account are 100% except for case responses where someone is sick or has something called a disability who needs help and he or she hasn’t received any help at all, then we form it in various ways. “Maybe later I can show you a photo like that,” said Risma.

Regarding why the budget was disbursed at the beginning of the year, said the Minister of Social Affairs, since he became minister the disbursement has been in January.

“Because I explained the theory earlier that if they can’t fulfill their needs for one month to live, they can’t. “So that’s why we are very disciplined in helping them,” he explained.

Previously, Arief Hidayat, a judge at the Constitutional Court, admitted that he wanted to know about Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) allegations in the 2024 presidential election, especially regarding social assistance (bansos).

For this reason, he questioned the replacement of the Main Director of Bulog before the 2024 presidential election took place.

Arief’s questions were directed at the four ministers who were present after the four delivered their presentations in the session.

The four ministers are Muhadjir Effendy, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK), Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of Finance, Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and Tri Rismaharini, Minister of Social Affairs.

“At critical moments I read, the head of Bulog was replaced. What are the underlying factors? “So there was the Head of the National Food Agency, Mr. Arief Prasetyo Adi, then there was a change in the head of Bulog and what was the connection with the Ministry of Social Affairs behind that?” Arief asked.

Then, Arief also asked Tri Rismaharini, Minister of Social Affairs, about President Jokowi distributing social assistance in front of the palace, as well as during visits to regions while distributing social assistance.

“We want to understand, because this is also known as a girls’ problem. Then regarding the Minister of Social Affairs, the President was distributing social assistance in front of the Palace. During his tour yesterday, the president was questioned by friends of applicant two. The president traveled to various regions and made regional visits coincidentally during the campaign. This gives rise to suspicion, mutual suspicion and mutual slander among us, the nation’s children. And it uses what, where, from where limits? Arief said. (faz/ipg)
