Björn Mickelat showered his team with praise after the final whistle. The coach of the national football league team TSV Etelsen was extremely satisfied with the performance of his team. “It was a very mature performance, the boys rewarded themselves,” said Mickelat after the away game against FC Cuxhaven. The Schlossparkkickers had several reasons to celebrate on the North Sea coast, as they gave the bottom team one goal after the next. In the end it was 8:0 (3:0) for the Etelsers, who celebrated their third three in a row.
The guests were wide awake from the start and got off to a dream start. The kick-off had just sounded when the ball hit the Cuxhaven goal for the first time. Hauke Wortmann shot the Schlossparkkickers into the lead in the first minute. The Mickelat team’s pressing quickly bore fruit. The guests kept their foot on the accelerator as the first half progressed. The result: Mickelat was able to celebrate two more goals for his team on the sidelines.
Nico Meyer made it 2-0 after 22 revolutions of the pointer. Shortly beforehand, TSV keeper Cedric Dreyer parried a penalty from Lucas Oliveira (17th). After half an hour, Hauke Wortmann appeared as a goalscorer for the second time. The offensive player made the preliminary decision with his goal to make it 3-0. “The boys had the conviction and the gall throughout the entire game,” praised Mickelat.

In the second half, the Schlossparkkickers really got going. They scored a whopping five more goals against the club from the North Sea coast. First, Hauke Wortmann scored a hat-trick in the 59th minute. Substitute Linus Meyer made it 5-0 for Etels five minutes later. Another substitute, Pascal Döpke, got on the scoresheet. The attacker scored in the 69th minute to make it 6-0. The Schlossparkkicker’s seventh goal was scored by Marcel Sieger, another player who had only just come onto the field shortly before (74′). “You can tell that we are on the right track and we need everyone,” said Mickelat satisfactorily. Pascal Döpke made the final score 8-0 in the 87th minute with his second goal of the game.
The success against Cuxhaven was also the biggest win of the season for the Schlossparkkickers. “From the first to the last minute it was a very confident performance. It was fun,” said Mickelat, full of praise for his team. However, the good mood in the Etels camp was somewhat dampened because Piet Niemann may have been seriously injured. “He sprained after a press blow. The failure obviously hurts and is a downer,” Mickelat regretted. It is not yet clear how long Niemann will be out.
In his analysis, Björn Mickelat also looked forward. His team will play their next game on Easter Monday, when the Etels team visit FC Hagen/Uthlede. “We have to keep working,” said Mickelat.
