It’s not just the Indonesian National Basketball Team that is currently making preparations. National teams from other countries are also preparing to take part in the FIBA agenda. This means that foreign players also have to return home to fulfill their country’s call. Like two players from Dewa United Banten, namely Tavario Miller and Gelvis Solano.
Tavario Miller is a Bahamas national team player. They are preparing to welcome the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 Qualifiers for Window 1. The Bahamas are in Group D with the United States, Puerto Rico and Cuba. The Bahamas will face Puerto Rico in Window 1 on February 22 and 25, 2024.
Tavario Miller is one of the core players of the Bahamas national team. In fact, he has played for the national team since the age of 17 in 2011. Several FIBA championships he has participated in include the 2015 CBC Championship, FIBA AmeriCup 2022 Qualifiers, and FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers. While defending the senior national team, Miller collected an average of 10.5 ppg and 5.8 rpg.
Meanwhile, Gelvis Solano also received a call from the Dominican Republic national team to take part in the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 Qualifiers for Window 1 in February. Dominica will play Chile on February 22 and 25. Argentina itself is in Group A with Venezuela, Colombia and Chile.
Solano has also been a core member of the Dominican Republic national team since 2016. He has played in the Centrobasket Championship, FIBA AmeriCup 2017, FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 and 2023, and at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament. His statistical averages on the national team are 5.9 ppg, 1.6 rpg, and 3.6 apg.
