Abu Dhabi: Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) of the Republic of Indonesia Dito Ariotedjo met with Minister of Education of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi. During the meeting, Minister Ahmad Belhoul expressed support from the UAE for Indonesia to host the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The meeting which took place at the UAE Ministry of Education Office in Abu Dhabi, Wednesday (24/4/2024) was warm.
At that meeting, Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, who is also the General Authority of Sports of the United Arab Emirates, provided support for Indonesia to host the U-20 football world cup in 2027.
“The UAE is happy to support Indonesia’s candidacy for the U-20 World Cup in 2027,” said Minister Ahmad Belhoul, as stated in a statement by the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports.
As is known, the U-20 World Cup is held every two years. In 2025, PD U-20 will be held in Chile.
In fact, in 2023, Indonesia was appointed to host PD U-20. However, FIFA canceled and appointed Argentina as host.
Meanwhile, Menpora Dito hopes that Indonesia can be one of the hosts of the U-20 World Cup. Moreover, Indonesia is ready to hold the U-20 World Cup of all things.
“Hopefully our dream of hosting the U-20 World Cup can come true. “Infrastructurally, of course we are ready because we are close to hosting in 2023,” he said.
Dito invited the community to pray together. He knows that the Indonesian people want Indonesia to host the U-20 World Cup.
“I invite all Indonesian people to pray that this good intention will soon be realized and we will host the U-20 World Cup in 2027,” he said. (doc)
