The Friulian goalkeeper wrote a letter to the Rossoneri goalkeeper Maignan and published it on his Instagram profile
Despite not being in the match due to a technical choice, the Udinese goalkeeper Marco Silvestri wrote a public letter on his Instagram profile to his colleague Mike Maignan. Here are his words:
As a colleague, and above all as a human being.
I’m with you for what happened. It’s not the first time, but ALL TOGETHER we must make sure it’s the last.
This cannot happen in our stadium, it must not happen in any stadium, in any field, anywhere. Let’s all raise our voices: NO TO RACISM!
I am writing to you, to tell you again, that I have been defending Udinese’s goal for three years and I feel like also defending this city, this club and this fan base. Defending those who truly love football. Respect and education are part of our values, and so is our team it is a symbol of integration.
These people are much more, more than some idiot shouting out stupid words while advertising their ignorance and shame on their curve.
With esteem and affection for my colleague and above all for the human being.”
