UN continues to mediate on wheat: “Without agreement, risk of hunger for billions of people”

NEW YORK – The UN continues mediation on wheat, based on the Secretary General’s double plan Guterres which would facilitate Ukrainian and Russian exports together, hoping to bring the two sides and Turkey together to discuss the details. The US and Kiev, however, remain skeptical, first of all because they do not want to give in return Putin the easing of sanctions, disconnected from the food crisis that he caused with his unjustified aggression; second, because they fear that it will take advantage of the demining of ports and of a possible humanitarian corridor to attack Odessa.
