An unknown person dug a 1.20 meter deep hole at the grave of German politician Wolfgang Schäuble. He didn’t get to the coffin.

An unknown person dug a hole about 1.20 meters deep at the grave of German politician Wolfgang Schäuble. According to current findings, however, the unknown person did not get to the coffin of the CDU politician who died in December, as police and public prosecutors announced on Monday in Offenburg in the Ortenau district of Baden.

City employees noticed the excavation at the local Waldbach cemetery on Monday morning. The police state security is investigating in cooperation with the public prosecutor’s office. There is initially no information about the background to the incident, the statement said.

No one has been a member of parliament longer than Schäuble

Top politicians and relatives said goodbye to the CDU politician at the beginning of January. Schäuble died on St. Stephen’s Day at the age of 81 after a long, serious illness.
