The brick villa is located on Frogner in Oslo, and has a garden of 1,895 square meters.

The buyer is Altor partner Maria Tallaksen. The home was first attempted to be sold in February last year with an asking price of NOK 75 million.

NOK 21.5 million later, the magnificent villa with the style referred to as Neo-Baroque was sold for NOK 53.5 million. This means that the inside of the home is somewhat reminiscent of King Louis the 14th’s palace in Versailles.

The estate agent who handled the sale, Jan Fredrik Bonde of Sem & Johnsen, explains the price reduction as follows:

– The price assessment was done before all the interest rate increases, he says to E24.

He also believes that moving to Switzerland has meant that there are now fewer buyers.

– Several have moved to Switzerland and several in the buying segment have simply disappeared.

The purchase was first reported by Today’s business.

The seller is Schibsted heiress Alexandra Huitfeldt (83). She and her now deceased husband Johan Thidemansen bought the home in her time from presenter and author Ellen Åse Bech Langballe, best known as Toppen Bech (84) for NOK 36 million in 2008. Bech owned the villa from 2005.

Schibsted heir

In 1992, the media heir Huitfeldt helped list what is now Norway’s largest media company.

The listing was part of an inheritance settlement between several family members. Those who fought for power at the time were the Huitfeldt siblings Alexandra, Henrik Jørgen and Eline, Schibsted nestor Tinius Nagell-Erichsen’s nephew, and the Riddervold family.

In 2021, she was listed with a fortune of NOK 30 million. In addition, she is the owner of a dozen properties, including in Gold and in Færder municipality.

Today, she is a shareholder in two property companies and a company that collects money for charitable purposes.

E24 is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Schibsted group. Certain journalists in E24 own shares in Schibsted through the group’s share savings programme.

In the first published version of this case, presenter Toppen Bech’s age was given as 83, the correct thing is that she was 84. The case has been corrected on Friday 23 February 2024, at 15:48.
