According to CCTV News, the US Department of Justice stated on June 7 that it has recovered the Bitcoin ransom equivalent of approximately US$2.3 million paid by the Colonel Pipeline Company to the hacker organization last month. The Ministry of Justice stated that 63.7 bitcoins were seized from the accounts of the hacker organization that day. It is reported that the Colonel Oil Pipeline Company, a large-scale US oil pipeline operator, was attacked by a hacker organization in May, which once caused fuel supply cuts in many places in the United States. Colonel eventually paid a ransom worth about $4.4 million in Bitcoin to the hacker organization.
