USA, Republicans will invite Biden to testify for impeachment

NEW YORK – The Republicans do not give up their attempt to embarrass the president Bidendiscussing his impeachment in the House, to the point that the leader of the Oversight Committee James Comer he said he wants to invite him to testify. The truth, however, is that the investigation so far has not produced significant evidence, and the GOP parliamentarians themselves have avoided putting the indictment of the head of the White House to a vote, because they know that they do not have sufficient consensus even within their own match. But they continue to drag out the initiative in the hope of finding something, or at least keeping Biden under pressure.

Yesterday the Oversight Committee held public hearings with some former business associates of Hunter, the president’s son, but once again did not discover anything new capable of justifying the president’s impeachment for corruption. Despite this, Comer declared that he will invite the head of the White House to testify, to “explain why his family received tens of millions of dollars”.

The FBI mole who accused Biden and his son Hunter has been indicted: “He lied about business with the Ukrainian company Burisma” February 16, 2024

It is an invitation, not a subpoena, and therefore Biden certainly will not accept it, also because there is not much to explain. This is demonstrated by the fact that yesterday, precisely to call the bluff of the Republicans, the Democratic congressman from Florida Jared Moskowitz he proposed to vote on the indictment immediately: “Why continue to waste taxpayers’ money with these hearings? If you are so convinced, let’s vote on the articles of impeachment and proceed with the president’s trial.” But Comer and Jim Jordan, leader of the Justice Commission which co-manages the proceedings, refused. The reason is simple. They know that if the impeachment request ended up before the chamber today, it would be rejected, because it wouldn’t get enough votes even in their party. But they still go ahead with the investigation, because this is now the political dialectic in Washington.
