Venezuela, at least two American prisoners released

Venezuelan authorities released at least two detained Americans. The New York Times writes, citing a US executive and a human rights defender. American sources have specified that the release is not part of an agreement to resume oil sales to the US. But the move comes after a rare trip by an American government delegation to meet Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in an attempt to unhook him from the alliance with Russian Vladimir Putin, perhaps without ruling out the lifting of oil sanctions.
