A vehicle allegedly intentionally entered a cafe in Monforte, Portalegre district, this Monday night, having ran over five people and injured sixone of them serious.
The alert was given at 9:44 pm on Monday. Four people, three men and one woman, were treated at the scene and one seriously injured and one slightly injured were transported to the Portalegre hospital, a source from the Alto Alentejo Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command told the Lusa agency.
The seriously injured person is the 38-year-old driver of the vehicle, who was transported to the hospital under arrest.
From what SIC found, the driver tried to consume beer without paying. After the owner refused, he went to the car and drove inside the cafe.
The moment of the collision was recorded by the establishment’s video surveillance system.
The case has been handed over to the Judiciary Police.
