According to the calculations based on Istat, Italian wine is gaining positions across the board: in addition to value, volumes are increasing (+ 7.9%, 16.2 million hectoliters exported) and above all the average price, at + 7%. An important fact, the latter, which however, according to UIV, only partially compensates for the losses that companies are suffering due to the jump in the costs of raw materials, electricity and transport. Driving the market is yet another exploit of sparkling wines, sparkling wines that increase by 28.6% both in volume and in value, with Asti at + 13% and Prosecco at almost + 40%.

The general growth in foreign sales is reflected in the company’s balance sheets. Terre Cevico has chosen the approval of the aggregate turnover – 164.3 million euros, registering a + 3.22% on the previous year, while exports maintain the share of 52 million euros and affects consolidated revenues for 38% – to announce the new partnership with Orion Wines – a Trentino company with ownership also in Puglia with which Cevico has been collaborating for over 10 years – for productions oriented to the themes of organic and sustainable viticulture and marketing in the world. To which is added the acquisition of a further share of the Montresor cellars in Valpolicella which thus passes to 75% under the control of the Lugo cooperative.

Cantina Tollo also closed the 2020-2021 budget positively at 41.9 million, 4 and a half more than the previous accounts. According to the Theatine cooperative, the figure relating to large-scale distribution in the foreign market is “significant”, with an increase of 26.8%. Italian large-scale distribution is also growing, registering + 4.15%.
