Valentine’s Day is important to the people of Solothurn. Flowers, chocolate and experiences are particularly popular as gifts. For the sales business, the day means more sales, but also more effort. However, it is not the most important day of the year.

Sparks and hearts are flying. On Wednesday, not only is the carnival Böögg burned, love also burns brightly. Since Valentine’s Day coincides with the end of Carnival and the holidays, some stores are expecting slightly less income than in previous years. Nevertheless, the people of Solothurn enjoy celebrating the day of love and are prepared to spend a lot.
