A woman moved an orchid to the bathroom and it bloomed after being “dormant” for a couple of years!

Do you like indoor flowers, but something is not going well for you and sensitive plants such as orchids do not bloom at all? A woman on a Facebook group showed pictures of “sad”, withered orchids and said that the plant had not bloomed for years, although it was still alive. She asked for advice on where to move her, ie where is the best place to keep orchids in the apartment.

“I keep two orchids in the bathroom, and they seem to like them. I transplanted them, they bloom again, because they like moisture but not excessive watering“, one member of the group wrote.
“One Orchid it also didn’t bloom for a couple of years, I also moved it to the bathroom and now the flower is coming out,” advised another.

Even more specific advice is yes place the orchid near the bathroom windowand not in some corner, so that it would have both light and moisture.

Phalaenopsis orchids come from tropical areas, which means they love moisture. The bathroom, as a room in the apartment that is constantly exposed to moisture due to bathing and showering, provides orchids with conditions similar to their native area. It’s mostly warm, there’s often a lot of humidity in the air, and that’s exactly what they like!

Good advice is yes an orchid occasionally carefully move it to another room for a couple of days. There are two reasons for this – not everyone has a window in the bathroom, so if you don’t either, move it somewhere where it can enjoy the sunlight for a few hours. The second is that too much moisture is not a good thing, the plant can be exposed to the formation of mold, and staying in drier and ventilated rooms will prevent its appearance.
