Willy García opens the trunk of memories to relive his childhood in Buenaventura

Salsa shines in the Diamante de La Voz Kids 2024 thanks to Willy García, who is another of Team Cepeda’s guests to prepare for the Semifinal of the musical contest, in which only one of three participants can obtain a place.

And although his goal was to provide the best advice and be a reference for those who saw him on stage, the Buenaventura native takes a trip back in time to relive a little of his childhood.

Willy García remembers his childhood after being a guest on La Voz Kids 2024

Initially, the salsa performer tries to remember what he carried in his school suitcase, extolling that beyond the notebooks and some supplies he always had a doll, highlighting that at that time it was prohibited because it was considered a distraction. Likewise, he believes that he would have liked to have a tape recorder to listen to a lot of music.

Continuing with this theme, Willy García responds that the soundtrack that would describe his childhood would be made up of: Pedrito Fernández, Cuco Valoy, Rubén Blades and Michael Jackson.

Recalling a moment in which he said “I see it and I don’t believe it,” Willy García points out that it happened when he first saw the mechanical games, such as bumper cars and the Ferris wheel, recounting that he once snuck in to play in them, since at that time paying a ticket for this was impossible.

On the other hand, he assures that cocada is that sweet from his land that immediately transports him to his childhood and those good moments of fun in Buenaventura.

Willy García imagines that he is a participant in La Voz Kids 2024

As part of this illusion of traveling to the past, the singer tells us what musical theme he would perform if he were in the Final of the musical contest, mentioning that it would be ‘The blue backpack’ because it was a song that generated a sensation during his childhood and with which all the little ones felt identified, especially because of the voice register.
