The “Smart City Transformation Academy”, a digital education initiative dedicated to PAs launched by WINDTRE, was held today in Rome.

At the center of the initiative are digital technologies at the service of environmental improvement, energy saving and innovation as drivers of change for Public Administrations.

In light of the “CER Decree” (Renewable and Sustainable Energy Communities) of the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Pichetto Fratin, which came into force last January 24th to define the electricity incentive methods produced by renewable source systems for self-consumption, the tools and techniques for monitoring the energy consumption of buildings in the area were illustrated.

Particular emphasis was given to role of energy managers and the importance ofefficiency in the PA and therefore of the role of CERs.

The energy challenge represents one of the main factors of innovation and transformation of production processes: efficient use of energy allows public administrations and businesses to reduce costs and negative impacts on the environment.

At the Transformation Academy mayors and local government officials participated. The sessions are led by Toni Federico, Coordinator of the ASVIS Working Group of SDGs 7 and 13 (Energy and Climate), e Laura LapennaFPA Training Area Manager, with the contribution of WINDTRE managers from specialized partner companies.

The role of local PAs – declared Toni Federico – is now acquired in terms of responsibility and competence. The ecological transition can today count on the front of territories and communities, often more active subjects than central administrations”.

In fact, there are already 27 cities that have signed the Smart City protocol and can exchange good practices for a positive impact on the territories”.

The Academy is part of WINDTRE’s concrete commitment to putting digital at the service of territories and designing, together with local administrations, the urban and sustainable transformation of Italian cities, improving the environment, health and quality of life of people.
