The rich calendar of collateral events organized on the occasion continues unabated Witchcraft. Iconography, facts and scandals of history’s subversivesthe current exhibition in the rooms of Pallavicini Palacea Bologna, which through prints, sculptures, ancient treatises and incredible objects of magic offers visitors a unique perspective on witches and their history. And this weekend’s event is dedicated to them, the witches, the only protagonists of the exhibition.

Sunday 17 March, at 4pmthe naturopath and astrologer Alessandra Barbieri will talk about The ancient witch, the inquisitive witch and the modern witch. Historical astrological visionleading us on a real journey to the origins of these figures once respected – and even feared – as powerful healers or for their infinite knowledge and skills, then persecuted, relegated to the margins of society and demonized, especially in the period of Inquisition.

The witch and food, the witch and the body, the witch and her relationship with nature and environments: Alessandra Barbieri, who has long also dedicated herself to the search for ancient female wisdom through the study of pre-Christian culture and religious and philosophical systems, will illustrate the various aspects that over the centuries have characterized the work of many incredibly wise women, also telling us about the possibility that today’s “witches” have to rediscover their value and express themselves in daily activities.

Starting this week, the ticket to participate in each collateral event of Witchcraft. Iconography, facts and scandals of history’s subversives it costs €8.00.

To participate in the collateral events you need to book by writing to [email protected]. After receiving confirmation of seat availability, you must purchase the event ticket online on the site www.stregherie.itto confirm the reservation.

If, however, you also wish to visit the exhibition and purchase a ticket, this allows you to access the current day’s event for free. Even in this case it is still necessary to book for the event by writing to [email protected].

It is also possible to purchase a subscription that allows you to participate in all the collateral events of the exhibition, which can be purchased online or directly at the ticket office, at the cost of 60.

Witchcraftwhich can be visited at Palazzo Pallavicini, in Bologna, until 16 June 2024, is designed and produced by Vertigo Syndrome and curated by the playwright, performer and esoteric expert Luca Scarlini. It exhibits around 300 prints, sculptures and paintings dedicated to the world of witches and magic, belonging to the collections of Guglielmo Invernizzi, Emanuele Bardazzi, Edoardo Fontana and Luca Locati Luciani, but also exorcism manuals and some historical treatises, such as the precious second edition of Wishbone, the church’s most widely used witch-hunt manual. The exhibition then offers a series of original objects linked to the world of witchcraft such as ancient cauldrons, fetishes, amulets, talismans and magic wands, all from the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic in Boscastle, Cornwalland an incredible one collection of amuletsnot exhibited to the public since 1911, granted by Museum of Civilizations of Rome.
