39-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Hacking Husband with Machete
Diana Carolina Pancha Iturriago, 39 years old, was detained by CPBEZ officials after hacking her husband with a machete. Officials from the Bolivarian Police Corps of the state of Zulia (CPBEZ) arrested a 39-year-old woman this Monday afternoon, accused of hitting her husband with a machete in the head for allegedly arriving drunk at her home.
The incident occurred in the Carlos Butacci sector of the town of El Moralito, Colón municipality in the state of Zulia, according to Commissioner Roberto Antonio Alfaro Molinares, general director of the aforementioned organization. The female was identified as Diana Carolina Pancha Iturriago.
Alfaro Molinares explained that the victim arrived with an open wound in the left frontal region of his head at the El Moralito hospital, where he was immediately treated. The injury required eight stitches.
After being interviewed by the authorities, the man revealed that the person who had attacked him in that way was his own wife in the same home where they live. Consequently, the woman was arrested and taken to the police coordination center in that town. The case is handled by the 16th prosecutor’s office of the Public Ministry.
