Tragedy strikes in Cotuí, Dominican Republic as 18-year-old Yennely Duarte Hilario was brutally murdered by her best friend. The horrifying incident left the community in shock and mourning, with calls for justice ringing out.

According to reports from Univision’s Primer Impacto, Yennely was last seen getting into a car from her home, only to disappear without a trace. After an extensive search, her body was discovered in a ranch, with her throat slit and covered in wounds from a knife, as well as doused in gasoline.

Yenny Hilario, the devastated mother of the victim, expressed her grief stating, “They killed my daughter, they slit my throat, he was a cold person, he was a psychopath. They wanted to disappear my daughter completely.”

The prime suspect in this horrific crime is Yennely’s best friend, identified as Ammy Hiraldo, a 21-year-old daughter of a family of ophthalmologists. Hiraldo, who had a wound on her hand, confessed to the crime and claimed to have acted alone.

The details of the crime are chilling; Hiraldo left her house with ammonia, a knife, and gasoline before picking up Yennely. The pair went to an alley where Ammy viciously attacked her friend, stabbing her multiple times before attempting to burn the body with gasoline.

Security cameras captured Hiraldo’s vehicle passing through various streets before reaching the scene of the crime. The victim’s mother, Yenny Hilario Sosa, arrived at the scene after work to identify her daughter’s body, further intensifying the emotional toll of the crime.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the motives behind this heinous act and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. The community remains in shock and mourning as they seek closure in the aftermath of this tragic incident.
