Justice reform, the vote in the Chamber of Deputies begins

by admin

The day has come for the Chamber to approve the reform of justice. The deputies are in the classroom to vote on the preliminary question of constitutionality presented by “The Alternative exists” (made up of former members of the 5Stelle) in the Justice Committee with respect to the new rules that aim to speed up the processes.

The text of the reform is “armored”, and was also dismissed on Friday by the Justice Commission. It should not undergo any changes and should be approved quickly, before the summer break. Reopening the dossier would jeopardize the political agreement reached between the government and the political forces with great difficulty.

The stages

After the general discussion, the preliminary ruling will begin. According to the executive’s intentions, the government should place the trust in the evening. It will then be the conference of the group leaders to establish the timing of the actual vote. On Monday, however, in the late afternoon, the call for the vote on confidence should begin and then end by Tuesday evening. It shouldn’t slip any further. In fact, the discussion on the Public Administration decree is scheduled for Wednesday. For the passage to the Senate, on the other hand, it will be discussed again in September.

Conte’s meeting with the M5S groups at 6.30 pm
Also today, at 6.30 pm, Giuseppe Conte called a meeting with the deputies and senators precisely to take stock of the Cartabia reform. The Cinquestelle clarify that the assembly had been requested for some time, especially to share with the groups the decisions and negotiations that had been carried out by a small group of exponents. Although there are appeals from the former “grillini” not to vote for the reform, the Movement assures that they are compact, that there are very few doubters.
