The National Army regretted the air accident that occurred in the south of Bolívar which left 9 soldiers dead.

As the hours went by, it was confirmed that Lieutenant Colonel Jesús David Carvajal Rangel, a native of Duitama, with 23 years of service, was the pilot of the MI17 helicopter with license plate 3395, which crashed while carrying out supply tasks for troops carrying out operations against the Gulf Clan.

In the incident, the entire crew lost their lives, consisting of: Major Edward Andrey Espinosa Rodriguez, Vice First Sergeant Diego Heriberto Ramirez Bahamón, Second Sergeant MIchael Andres Villanueva Mancera, First Corporal: Cristiam Ordoñez Caicedo, Terero Corporal Jhon Arlen Olea Palmera, Professional Soldiers: Sman Sanabria Guerrero, Jesús Montalvo Arroyo and Yeisson Mendoza Mendez.

The Army reported that after learning of the accident, a rescue team was mobilized to the area, where farmers were already providing support, but unfortunately the entire crew was dead.
