Younger Lombard students will have access to two antigen tests per month under the regional health service regime.
Starting from 23 August, in Lombard pharmacies also children between the ages of 6 and 13 will be able to undergo a quick antigen test every 15 days for free. This is what is foreseen by the recent resolution passed by the Lombardy Region (DGR XI / 5155), which extends the offer already active for students between the ages of 14 and 19 to the little ones.
The service will be available at pharmacies that carry out SSR swabs. The initiative aims to facilitate a safer return to class for elementary and middle school pupils who do not have access to the anti Covid-19 vaccine.
“Once again the pharmacy is at the side of the citizens, to provide a concrete answer to their daily health and prevention needs”, comments Annarosa Racca, President of Federfarma Lombardia. “With this agreement, in particular, our presidia are confirmed as a point of reference for the needs of families, in a delicate moment like that of returning to school in an era of pandemic. The widespread distribution of community pharmacies throughout the region – concludes the President – will contribute to the epidemiological surveillance action, which is essential to allow the safe restart of the new school year and the resumption of face-to-face teaching ».
