From 15:00 on August 19 to 02:00 on August 20, there was heavy rain in some areas of Lantian County. The maximum rainfall in 19 towns and streets of the county was 203.1 mm in Tonge Village, Jiujifang Town. The heavy rain caused Bayuan Town and Jiujifang Town. Some houses in the town, Lanqiao Town, and Puhua Town collapsed, roads were washed out, the network was cut off, and people lost contact.

Lantian County officially notified that. Heavy rainfall caused part of the national highway G312 and provincial highway S101 in Lantian County to collapse and wash away, and some traffic, power, and communications along the way were interrupted. At present, 13 villages in Jiujianfang Town have power outages, involving 18,600 people, and 4 bridges have been damaged; roads, electricity, and communications have been damaged in 7 villages in Lanqiao Town.

Among them, nine Jianfang towns were severely affected. “There was a sudden increase in water, and there was no time to transfer. Mr. Liu recalled, “At six or seven o’clock in the evening on the 19th, the water was suddenly very big and poured into the house. It swept people down and ran away. The water was almost reaching the neck. The rain on the mountain was so heavy that it rushed down. The backyard was destroyed. The house behind our mahjong hall was completely washed away, even the fish pond was gone, and it was flat.”

Many old houses in the village were washed down by the flood, and the newly built concrete houses were also flooded. The contents of the villagers’ homes were soaked up. Most of the villagers moved to live in schools, some went to friends’ houses, and some stayed at home. Unwilling to come out. Due to the pollution of the water source, a large amount of instant noodles, water and lighting equipment are needed locally. “Drinking water is estimated to be unavailable for a long time. Mr. Zhang said that there are about 20,000 people in the town, and they live relatively scattered. Many villages in Jiujianfang Town were seriously affected. Hewankou Village in Puhua Town, Lantian County is close to Qinghe River. At 6 pm on the 19th, precipitation occurred in Hewankou Village and the water level of the river rose rapidly, causing damage to houses and river courses along the river.

Zhang Xiulan cried and said that there was a 400-square-foot pig shed in front of her house, with nearly 200 pigs in it, and a large cropland next to her. “The pig shed and crop land are gone, and 200 pigs were washed away. With only a lot of sand and stones left, the direct economic loss of our family is more than 100,000 yuan.”
