Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. kicks off pre-series production

Changchun City, China – Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd., the country’s first production base specializing in pure electric vehicles, has officially commenced pre-volume production. The significant milestone was marked by the rollout of the first Audi Q6 e-tron pre-volume vehicle in the company’s final assembly workshop on January 26.
Located in Qiqikai District, Changchun City, Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. has been under construction since 2022 and has continually set new benchmarks for “China Speed”. Notably, the body-in-white speed of the first pre-batch approved vehicle surpasses that of any other new Audi projects in China.
As Audi’s most advanced production base globally, Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. aims to achieve an annual production capacity of over 150,000 vehicles. The company plans to gradually introduce the Audi Q6 e-tron and Audi A6 e-tron series, specifically designed for the Chinese market, starting from the end of 2024. Three pure electric models are set to enter production, and by early 2025, these models will hit the market successively.
In line with Audi’s global “zero emission plan”, Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. is actively implementing various measures to contribute to environmental sustainability. The company is committed to utilizing 100% green energy, achieving 100% recycling of production waste, and implementing 100% recycling of production and domestic wastewater. Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. is poised to become the first production base to achieve “carbon neutrality” upon its operational commencement.
The launch of pre-volume production by Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. has contributed to the solid foundation for the development of Changchun’s new energy vehicle industry. The city is set to accelerate the deep integration of the innovation chain, industrial chain, capital chain, and talent chain with the aim of establishing a high-end new energy vehicle cluster development area and expediting the construction of a trillion-level automobile industry cluster.
