The president, in a press conference, defined the outcome of the violent brawl in the prison as “deplorable” and “sad”, and remarked that so far “116 dead and about 80 injured have been reported; they are all persons deprived of their liberty, not they are civilian personnel “or prison guides.

“It is regrettable that prisons are turning into a territory of power disputes between criminal gangs”, Lasso stressed and said that one of the first actions to address this phenomenon was to declare a “state of emergency” in all. the country throughout the country’s prison system.
