Rome, 30 September 2021 – It has become one comedy of misunderstandings the misadventure that took place last night in Turkey which has as protagonist a drunk. A fifty-year-old who, after having raised his elbow a little too much, first got lost in a forest and then joined the rescue team who had been called to track him down until he realized that the missing person he was looking for was him same.
The drunk’s singular misadventure was told today by the Daily Sabah and other Turkish media and features a 50-year-old named Beyhan, resident of Inegol, in the province of Bursa, who had been reported missing last night after being estranged from a group of friends with whom he was taking a trip. Having no news from him and unable to contact him, the worried 50-year-old’s wife contacted the police.
The rescue teams then started search operations in thewooded area in the area of Inegol. The drunk, after having probably soaked up a bit, met one team of rescuers and offered to help them with the operations they were carrying out. He joined them until one of the team members shouted his name and he replied: “I’m here”. At that point, including the misunderstanding – reports the local press – Beyhan would have begged the police to be understanding: “Please, officer, don’t punish me too harshly, my father will kill me”.
