The limbo of the ambassadors of pre-Taliban Afghanistan: “We are in contact with the legitimate administration. We are working on a government in exile”

Faithful to the Constitution and to a government that no longer exists. Opponents of a government that they do not consider legitimate but is there, has taken power. The Taliban’s conquest of Kabul has left Afghan diplomats around the world in political limbo: so far none of them have recognized the mullahs’ transitional executive, hardly anyone will.
