Reason: the dry “no” of the mayor, Maurizio Paoletti, to the request of the opposition representatives (Gianni Martini, Costanza Lerda, Giuseppe Marro, Valeria Arpino) to anticipate the third item on the agenda. What it was about the appointment, by the minority, of a new councilor of the School of Peace, after the resignation of Alessandro Pellegrino for personal and family reasons. A refusal justified by the first citizen with the second item on the agenda, the resignation (already agreed at the beginning of the mandate) of the majority councilor Raffaella Giordano, who becomes external councilor for Events, Culture, Tourism and Commerce, replaced in the assembly by Irma Goletto. At the same time the commissioner Enrica Di Ielsi leaves the council, maintaining the delegations to School and Social, and is appointed coordinator of the School of Peace.
“We cannot anticipate the third point – said the mayor Paoletti – because the correct constitution of the organ is a preliminary act to any municipal council”. The justification arrives on the phone, with Costanza Lerda telling a background on Monday evening: “Five minutes before the session began, the mayor Paoletti and the majority group leader, Gianluca Cavallo, called me to tell me that they would not vote our new representative at the School of Peace (Andrea Moretti, ed). I asked why, I was replied: “For various reasons, we disagree and we don’t vote for it”. And to say that after Pellegrino’s resignation at the end of November, Paoletti knew the name of our candidate as early as December 14th and could have informed us beforehand of the decision not to vote for him ». Which, according to the Statute of the School of Peace, does not directly concern the majority. «The members of the minority are appointed with the” limited vote “- adds Costanza Lerda -.
