The dinner for three was advertised on the club’s Facebook page. After all, Javier Zanetti plays at home at Botinero in via San Marco, being the owner. And at the tables of the Argentine restaurant, the vice president of Inter had received as guests the coach Antonio Conte and the presenter Paolo Bonolis, for a dinner celebrating the 19th championship that mixed team and cheering, football and a modicum of glamor. And the evening seemed to have ended with the photo of the trio behind the club’s celebratory flag, “IM Scudetto”, after a lavish dinner and as many toasts.
It wasn’t over though. A customer, probably of adverse footballing faith, reported through the YouPol app to the Police Headquarters the guests who were lingering at the restaurant tables beyond 11pm, the curfew limit as per anti-Covid legislation. And when the police cars arrived, there were still eight people on the sidewalk of Via San Marco, at 11.15 pm: all identified, including Conte, Zanetti and Bonolis. To the agents, the three explained that they had just left and about to go home. At the time, as usual, they were not fined. It will be the Questura to evaluate the possible sanction of 400 euros for the three and the other five identified.
