A technical problem with the air traffic control system has interrupted take-offs and landings at Swiss airports. The announcement was made by Skyguide, the main provider of air transport services in Switzerland.
“The Swiss air navigation service provider Skyguide encountered a technical malfunction in the early hours of this morning, which is why Swiss airspace was closed to traffic for safety reasons,” Skyguide said in a statement, specifying that the measure remains in force “until further notice”.
Shortly before, both Geneva and Zurich airports had reported air traffic paralysis due to computer problems.
