General medicine, 17 new doctors graduated

CREMONA – Yes, I am the first 17 doctors of the three-year course in General Medicine graduated of the training center of ATS Val Padana. With the thesis session in April and July the process that started in April 2019 has ended. Many of the recent graduates are already working and represent a concrete and precious help in the area to cope with the shortage of family doctors.

“This training path was made possible also thanks to ASST of Mantua e Cremona and to our General Practitioners (GPs) who guaranteed their support for carrying out the practical training – says the general manager Salvatore Mannino -. We wish the new graduates good work, but above all we say thank you for their professional choice: the GP is a fundamental link in the health system and a direct link with citizens. A figure who takes care of fragile and chronic patients, also lightening the care burden of the hospital network, whose role must be further strengthened and enhanced, in full integration with the local local structures ”.

OTHER 61 FAMILY ASPIRING DOCTORS

61 aspiring general practitioners are currently enrolled in the ATS Training Center in the Po Valley, many of which originate in the area and who will therefore be able to choose their headquarters in areas where the lack of personnel is making itself felt. Currently, the overall requirement between Cremona and Mantua is 124 units.

Thanks to the recent collaboration agreement signed last April with ASST Crema, the training activity offered by ATS Val Padana covers the entire territory of the provinces of Cremona and Mantua. In all, there are three three-year courses activated (one for each ASST), whose management is entrusted to Dr. Annalisa Longari, assisted by doctor Angelo Rossi Didactic coordinator and by the representatives of the ASSTs, GPs and the Department of Primary Care of ATS.
