Since the launch of Bitcoin in 2009, the crypto-assets sector has grown exponentially, with capitalization exceeding one trillion dollars this year.
After years of discussions, the unfortunate ICO season of 2016-2018 and the recent alarms on potential systemic risks related to some new stablecoin projects, the European Commission has launched a proposal for the regulation of the sector (Mica), as part of its ” Digital Finance Package ”, now being examined by the European Parliament and the EU Council.
