The bronze medal for athletic value for competitive results achieved in 2019, awarded by Coni to Paolo Longhi, 52, Formula 2 Motorboat champion, certifies how the passion for speed and engines, cultivated since he was a child, has become reality that accompanies the Casalese driver in ever new challenges.
“I started racing for ten years on go karts, I switched to jet skis for another ten years, before landing in Formula 4, where I raced until 2016. In 2017 I entered Formula 2 and, in 2019, the conquest of the podium at the 18th Motonautico del Po Grand Prix in San Nazzaro, Piacentino », remembers Longhi excitedly.
The letter with the important acknowledgment, signed by the president of the Italian National Olympic Committee, Giovanni Malagò, arrived in recent days. The award will be given to Longhi, who has been part of the German Rowe Power Boat Formula 2 team since 2020, in a ceremony that will be organized as soon as possible by the Coni territorial committee.
