The difficult situation at the headquarters in via San Valentino in Udine. “So for weeks: unbearable.” The director: “From Monday everything is fine”

UDINE. In these days of scorching heat, the absence of air conditioners, especially in offices, is a problem. They know this well in via San Valentino, headquarters of the Friuli Centrale university health care district in Udine, where for weeks the staff has been forced to work with temperatures that, in the interior spaces, are close to 30 degrees centigrade. A situation aggravated by the fact that having the obligation to wear the Fpp2 masks all day long, there are those who cannot take it anymore.

“This summer season the refrigeration plant has never started due, it seems, to a technical fault – says one of the collaborators of the district, who for obvious reasons prefers to remain anonymous -. With the windows open, nothing is resolved, also because the sun beats down on the building. The heat is scorching. Unbearable”.

The problem concerns the mezzanine floor, the first, second and third floors. No critical issues, however, on the fourth floor, where the district management is located.

Asked about the matter, the new director Mara Pellizzari explains as follows: «We were waiting for a piece to arrive from outside the city, so it took a few more days to repair the fault – she admits -. From next week, everything should be back in place. Those in charge are already at work to bring the cool back into the building ».

A system, that of refrigeration, which was completely redone between 2018 and 2019, but which has already suffered a major failure 12 months ago. Criticality that has reappeared also in this 2021. «It is not only us employees who have to endure the prohibitive temperatures – adds the district collaborator -, but also the citizens who frequent our spaces. In particular, those who go to the waiting room for reservations or who must make withdrawals ». If, however, the citizens, within a few minutes, can go out into the open air, or in air-conditioned places, those who work there in the district cannot help but put their hearts in peace and endure the heat.

«There is no point in denying the inconvenience – says another collaborator -: nowadays one cannot think of keeping a public office without an air conditioner. I can understand the fault, but it is not correct to let weeks pass before restoring a situation to normal. In this way – he concludes – you don’t work well ».
