Tragedy Strikes on I-10: Another Life Lost in El Paso
In the early hours of a dark April morning, tragedy struck on the busy highways of El Paso as Pedro Negrete, 32, of east El Paso, lost his life in a fatal car accident. The incident occurred on westbound I-10 when Negrete’s 2014 Ford Focus swerved off course, colliding with multiple traffic signs before coming to a sudden stop in the middle of the lanes in the 11000 block of Gateway West.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, it was too late to save Negrete. The Special Traffic Investigations Unit took over the case, determining that speed had played a significant role in the crash. The loss of Negrete marked the eighteenth traffic fatality in El Paso this year, serving as a grim reminder of the dangers of reckless driving.
