A thesis that is confirmed in a study conducted by researchers dell’University of Alabama a Birmingham.
To reach this conclusion, the researchers recruited 62 adult individuals, aged 19 to 77, to monitor caffeine consumption (e.g. coffee, tea, cocoa, energy drinks, etc.) to 7 days. The daily dose was about 170 milligrams, although 15% of the participants took more.
The conclusion of the research
At the end of the week, the participants underwent a pain threshold test. What happened?
Participants who regularly drank caffeine demonstrated reduced sensitivity to painful stimuli. In short: the tolerance threshold increases according to the caffeine consumed.
