Chinese “Three-Wheelers” Gain Popularity in the United States, Generating $10,000 in Sales in One Day
In a recent report by Kuai Technology News on March 20, it was revealed that domestically produced tricycles from China, commonly referred to as “three-wheelers,” have gained massive popularity in the United States. A Chinese blogger residing in the U.S. first introduced these tricycles to the local market, where they quickly became a favorite due to their convenience and ease of use, sparking discussions among netizens.
Inspired by the success of these three-wheelers, a young man from Guizhou living in the United States decided to venture into business. Teaming up with two friends, they ordered a tricycle from China and shipped it to the U.S. for distribution. To their surprise, the American consumers showed great interest in the three-wheelers, leading to sales of $10,000 on the very first day of business.
Expressing his ambitions, the young entrepreneur from Guizhou stated his goal of expanding the reach of domestically produced three-wheelers across the entire United States to grow his company even further.
The electric tricycles that have gained fame overseas are manufactured by Jiangsu Guowei Motorcycle, as reported in previous studies. Ni Xiaofeng, the founder of Guowei Motorcycle, mentioned that the popularity of these tricycles abroad has significantly boosted online shopping orders. What used to be a few hundred units exported per month has now risen to nearly 600 units monthly, with prices ranging from RMB 3,000 to RMB 6,000.
Despite the price doubling due to freight and tariffs when exported overseas, the demand for these tricycles among foreigners remains high. Moreover, Guowei Motorcycle aims to further expand its presence overseas by exploring the possibility of establishing a local factory in collaboration with government authorities.
As the trend of Chinese three-wheelers continues to soar in the United States, the success story of this Guizhou entrepreneur serves as a testament to the growing global appeal of domestically produced vehicles.
