A resort in the Maldives with Sace guarantee

by admin

For all of us who are not professionals, it may be surprising, but Sace (branch of the CDP that insures Italian credits and investments abroad) also deals with pleasant economic activities such as over-luxury resorts in the Maldives, and in fact it is just intervened in support of the Scarapicchia Group with an insurance commitment of 36 million euros to cover the political risks for the acquisition and subsequent renovation of a tourist-hotel complex in the Indian Ocean archipelago.

The Scarapicchia Group project concerns a structure on the island of Faarufushi, in the atoll of Raa. The Group already manages 5-star luxury properties in the Indian Ocean, the Caribbean and East Africa, and is growing in the Maldives with a second 7-hectare resort. Like the previous one, the new complex will be part of the Emerald Resorts and will be affiliated with the “Leading Hotels of the world” (LHW) chain.

The Scarapicchia Group has been working for over 40 years in the tourism-hotel sector both as a tour operator and for the management of structures in Italy and abroad, of which three in Zanzibar, two in Mexico, one in Kenya and one in the Maldives (which now will become two).

It is not the only operator to focus on the Maldives. The new Colors of Oblu brand, from the Atmosphere Hotels | Resorts group, launches into the archipelago with two brand new and two “rebranded” structures to prepare for the hoped-for relaunch of post-Covid tourism. Located in the North Male Atoll, the two new Oblu resorts will be reachable within 15 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport.

Two extra-luxury resorts, Oblu Select Lobigili and Oblu XPErience Ailafushi, will open in February 2022 and a month later, respectively. Between the two renovated structures, Obli Select Sangeli is a 5-star hotel designed for families and honeymooners and Oblu Nature Helengeli a 4-star superior with the coral reef just a few meters away.
