The Court of Milan returns to Tim the 249 million euros that it had previously seized at the end of February as part of the investigation into a huge scam involving telephone services, for the so-called “vas services”. Tim had contested the proceedings and now the Court has canceled the preventive seizure decree and will file the reasons within 30 days.

The story

At the end of February the soldiers of the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Gdf in Milan, with colleagues from the Special Unit for the Protection of Privacy and Fraud in Rome, had notified a seizure order for almost 322 million euros in the second line of the Milanese investigation, opened in 2018, on a huge scam involving telephone services which this time revolves around Tim, a company that is not under investigation.

The seizure decree, signed by the investigating judge at the request of the prosecutors, concerned another 5 companies which, together with the telecommunications company – to which almost 250 million had been frozen – were said to have sold so-called “VAS services”. There are over 20 people under investigation. Five content producing companies – based in Rome, Turin, Milan and Madrid – would have benefited, according to the accusatory hypothesis, from the euros stolen from telephone credit for games, ringtone, weather, horoscope and gossip, services ‘premium’ never requested by users.
