No Sardinia effect for the center-left in Abruzzo. The coalition that supported Luciano D’Amico, the university professor leading a very large camp for the occasion, stopped about ten points away from the center-right of the outgoing governor Marco Marsilio. The outcome of the elections was not in the balance, as progressives expected, but it was clear after the first data. On the contrary, the M5S recorded 7%, a clear decrease compared to both the 19.7% of the regional elections in 2019 (when it ran alone) and the 18.4% of the political elections. “The new course it started recently, we are structuring ourselves. The Movement is suffering from the local elections, we have difficulties”, admitted Gianluca Castaldi, coordinator of the M5s in Abruzzo, to Rainews24.
