The MIND Innovation Week 2024 was the setting chosen by BMW Italia to present the BMW iX5 Hydrogen,
one of the spearheads of sustainable mobility of the future. The event, hosted in the heart of the Milan Innovation District, saw the participation of key figures in the intelligent and sustainable mobility sector, including institutional representatives and the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana.
The conference, entitled “Hydrogen in mobility and logistics, perspectives and opportunities”, opened the week of events and highlighted the potential of the use of hydrogen as a sustainable solution. During the event, BMW Italia made two examples of the BMW iX5 Hydrogen available, allowing participants to enjoy a zero-emission driving experience through the historic streets of the former EXPO 2015 site.
These vehicles, part of an international test fleet, demonstrate how fuel cell technology can guarantee pleasant and agile driving, with just five minutes needed to refuel with hydrogen. The presence of President Fontana, who personally drove one of the prototypes, underlined the strategic importance of this technology for the future of mobility in Lombardy and Italy.
The BMW iX5 Hydrogen they will remain available for test drives until the conclusion of MIND Innovation Week on 11 May 2024. The event represents an important step towards the creation of a hydrogen refueling infrastructure and the promotion of a green hydrogen economy in Europe.
