Acqua San Benedetto accelerates along the path of sustainability and begins the marketing of a one-liter bottle of water produced exclusively with recycled pet (Rpet). A circular economy model that, in addition to the maximum reuse of raw – secondary materials, also aims at cutting CO2 emissions. The new Ecogreen 1L Easy bottle is the first San Benedetto reference to be carbon neutral and will lead to a further saving of 9% of greenhouse gas emissions over the entire life cycle of the product. “We are proud of the goals achieved by our group in an environmental perspective thanks to a commitment that has distant roots in the company’s industrial path and which represent one of the strategic assets for our future development – explains Enrico Zoppas, president and CEO of Acqua Minerale. St. Benedict -. The constant research and innovative capacity has led us to this launch which represents a milestone in our path towards a full circular economy and zero impact. A path that also passes through the greater use of Rpet ». The possibility of using Rpet at 100% is possible thanks to a legislative modification that saw as the first signatory Senator Andrea Ferrazzi, member of the 13th Commission (territory, environment and environmental assets), for the elimination of any constraint in the quantity of Rpet . In the past, a maximum of 50% of Rpet could be used. «The ecological transition must keep environmental sustainability together with economic and social sustainability. With my standard, we simply bridged the gap between an example of sustainable industrial excellence and an old regulatory system with a negative impact on both the environment and the economy. The 100% recycled bottle is a tangible sign of what the circular economy really means »remarked Senator Ferrazzi. Acqua San Benedetto has been using green containers for over 10 years and is committed to reducing CO2 emissions. This scenario includes the choice to diversify production into five strategic sites in Italy (Scorzè, Popoli, Donato, Viggianello and Atella), bringing production closer to places of consumption.
