Africa: Liberia is the country with the largest merchant fleet

According to a ranking drawn up by Business Insider, Liberia is the African country with the largest merchant fleet, made up of 4311 ships. This is followed by Nigeria, with 832 merchant ships, and Sierra Leone, with 605.

The Business insider ranking was drawn up based on Global firepower data referring to the current year. In order, the other African countries with significant commercial fleets are Egypt (436), Tanzania (322), Cameroon (121), Algeria (119), South Africa (107), Libya (94) and Morocco (93).
