Amazon.com Inc. would be ready to announce the acquisition of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film studio as early as Tuesday, according to a person familiar with the file. This was revealed by Bloomberg, the agency that first lifted the veil from this increasingly probable deal. Amazon refused to comment, while MGM did not respond.
The bustle in the world of media continues. After the announcement of the wedding between WarnerMedia and Discovery, Amazon is now negotiating to acquire the film and television company MGM for about 9 billion dollars (7.4 billion euros).

The negotiations, according to Bloomberg reports, have been underway for several weeks and the head of Amazon TV Mike Hopkins and the president of MGM Kevin Ulrich would sit at the table. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, whose Anchorage Capital fund represents the largest shareholder, has been looking for a buyer for months.
The possible acquisition of MGM would allow Amazon to further strengthen its offer on Prime Video.
