AT&T to Offer $5 Credit to Affected Customers After Network Service Interruption
Last Thursday, AT&T experienced a widespread interruption in its network service, affecting tens of thousands of users for much of the day. In response to the incident, the American multinational company has announced that it will offer a credit of $5.00 USD to its affected customers.
In a statement, AT&T expressed understanding for the impact the interruption had on customers’ ability to connect with loved ones. To address the issue, the company is proactively applying a credit to the accounts of potentially affected clients.
CEO John Stankey clarified that the service outage was caused by an incorrect process used during network expansion, ruling out a cyber attack as the trigger. The $5.00 credit offered to customers is equivalent to a full day of service.
While AT&T Prepaid and Cricket or AT&T Business customers are not eligible for the refund, the company assures that options will be available for those affected. Eligible customers will automatically receive the credit through their AT&T account, with the funds expected to be received within two billing cycles.
Overall, AT&T’s response to the network service interruption emphasizes their commitment to customer satisfaction and ensuring that users are properly compensated for any disruptions to service.
